Candidate eligible for admission in Diploma in Pharmacy course, has to undergo the prescribed course of study for a period of two academic years in an institution duly recognized by All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and duly affiliated with the State Board of Technical Education of the concerned State. After the Academic curriculum the students has to undergo for practical training for the prescribed period in Govt./recognized hospitals. The subjects of study shall be in accordance with the syllabus prescribed by Pharmacy Council of India/AICTE/DTE, Haryana from time to time both for theory and practical. For Diploma in Engineering viz. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering the subject/syllabus as prescribed DTE/SBTE, Haryana.
Requirements for Appearing in the Examinations and Attendance
The Diploma in Pharmacy course is run on yearly pattern & examinations are conducted by the State Board of Technical Education, Haryana at the end of each academic year tentatively in the month of May-June, where as for Diploma in Engineering course the semester system has been adopted by State Board of Technical Education, Haryana and exams are conducted after each semester i.e., two times in academic year tentatively in November-December for odd semesters & May-June for even semesters. A candidate shall be permitted in the examination only if.
- He/She secures 75% of attendance in each subject in theory and practical separately.
- He/She earns progress certificate in studies from the head of the Institution for having satisfactory completed the course of study.
- His/Her conduct and character has been found satisfactory.
Percentage of marks required to promote into next year/semester or to complete the course:
In Diploma in Pharmacy course the curriculum is divided into two academic years i.e., eleven subjects for first year (06 Theory & 05 Practical) and ten subjects for second year (06 Theory & 04 Practical) each comprising of 100 marks. The 100 marks of each subject are further divided into 20 Internal Assessment Marks and 80 External Evaluation Marks. Internal assessment marks are allotted by the concerned institution on the basis of performance of students in three sessionals/internal examinations conducted as per norms by taking the average of two best sessionals/internal examinations. Students must secure a minimum aggregate of total 40 marks out of 100 marks to pass theory and practicals separately. However student can carry two subjects into next higher class i.e., student has to clear only 09 total subjects out of 11 subjects prescribed for the first year to promote into second year, and remaining two subjects he can clear in the supplementary examination. However before completing the course student has to clear all its theory and practical examination of first and second year. After the completion of course of study the student has to under go 750 hours of hospital training in any of the Govt. Hospital or any other hospital as prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India.
